About the event

  • To register for the Online Session Please email regeneration@kingston.gov.uk to register for this event

In July 2023 Hayatsu Architects, Hortus Collective and 121 Collective won the 'A Gateway to New Malden’ design competition. The competition asked for designs to address challenges and opportunities at the site of the Fountain Roundabout and adjacent land in front of Kingston Environment Centre.

This location is a key gateway to the town centre and this programme will seek to improve the environment for pedestrians and cyclists, enhance the offering of green space; increase biodiversity and improve the fountain, currently located on Fountain Roundabout.

View the competition proposal

The design team will be working with the council, particularly the Highways Team, and the local community to refine the competition proposal in more detail, develop options and recommendations and produce an approved design by March 2024.

They are currently asking for your views on the proposal and how you travel through the space to help shape this process. You can share your thoughts at the  Online Session: 6pm - 7pm, 26 October. Please email regeneration@kingston.gov.uk to register for info on how to join this event.
